This December London will play host to the NBA 2K League European International, being held from Friday 13th to Saturday 14th. The event will find elite players from across Europe who will then be invited to take part in the 2020 NBA 2K League Draft.
The two days will see players competing from the Uk, Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Spain and Turkey. Play will include scrimmages, a double-elimination tournament and there will be interviews with key players headed by league representatives and team managers.
Players were selected from the NBA 2K League Combine, the NBA 2K community tournaments and by their historical performances in NBA 2K past events.
The League MD, Brendan Donohue said; “We are excited to bring together the best NBA 2K players from across Europe for our first-ever European qualifying event,”
“Building on the success of last season’s APAC Invitational, which identified several draft-eligible players from the Asia‑Pacific region, it is important for us to further strengthen our player pool by providing more opportunities for top international players to qualify for the 2020 NBA 2K League Draft.”
Saturday will see the double-elimination tournament and it will be livestreamed on the League’s Twitch and YouTube Channels. At the end of the event, a select committee made up of representatives from the league, and various team managers will then identify those who should be invited to the 2020 Draft.
Various League representatives will serve as scouts during the event, including Cody Parrent, the Pacers Gaming Senior Director of Esports Operations and Head Coach, Jeff Terrell, who is both the 76ers CC Head Coach and the 2019 NBA 2K League Coach of the Year, plus Harry Hurst, known as HazzaUK, Knicks Gaming center.
Here at FUTR Sports we wish all competitors the best of luck, and will be watching the live streams as events unfold.
